Bio
Amanda Fama enters her first year as an assistant coach with the Cypress Chargers Softball program, adding her wealth of experience as an Olympic athlete and professional coach to the coaching staff.
Amanda made history as the first Cypress softball alum to represent the Chargers in the Olympics when she took the field for the Italian Softball National Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Fama faced off against the United States in the opening game of her Olympic career. She is also a 2x European Champion, 3x Italian League Champion, and 3x Cup Champion.
During her time at Cypress, Amanda had a legendary career, helping the Chargers secure one state championship (2010) and three Orange Empire Conference championships. Over her two seasons (2008-2010), she etched her name into the Cypress record books 13 times. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Amanda was inducted into the Cypress Hall of Fame in 2017.
Amanda continued her collegiate career at Concordia University, Irvine, and has since become a celebrated figure in the world of professional softball. Her deep understanding of the game and championship experience make her an exceptional mentor for the Chargers’ student-athletes.
