Cypress Sweeps Season Series Against The Eagles
Chargers Shut Out LA Mission Again with 8-0 Victory
CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress College softball team completed a season sweep over LA Mission on Wednesday afternoon, securing an 8-0 victory while holding the Eagles scoreless for the second consecutive matchup.
The game remained close through the first three innings before the Chargers broke it open in the bottom of the third, plating five runs—four of them with two outs. Nanea Kyle sparked the rally by beating out an infield single before showing off her speed, stealing second on a wild pitch, swiping third, and scoring on a throwing error by the catcher. Makayla Motis, Carly Parmenter, and Mickayla Galviz followed with clutch hits, bringing in four more runs to cap off the inning.
Cypress kept the momentum going in the fourth, as Aliyah Hill led off with a walk, setting the stage for three consecutive hits from Layne Barnes, Kyle, and Motis. The Chargers tacked on two more runs, extending their lead to 8-0.
In the circle, Haley Tucker delivered another strong performance, pitching four scoreless innings while allowing just two hits. Giselle Delcastillo came in for the fifth inning, shutting the door with three straight outs to seal the victory.
