Riverside City College tried to battle back but couldn't overcome No. 5 Cypress College in an 8-2 loss Thursday afternoon.
The Tigers drop to 8-17 on the year, 3-5 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Chargers improve to 21-4 overall and 5-2 in conference.
RCC out-hit Cypress 6-to-4 but committed costly errors in the game.
Alysse Flores led the Tigers with a 2-for-3 performance, while Abigail Baldwin (1-for-4), Isabella Ramirez (1-for-3), Grace Rogers (1-for-3), and Jocelyn Uglesich (1-for-2) also had hits in the game.
The Tigers and Chargers close out the three-game series back home in Riverside on Friday at 2 p.m.
