CYPRESS, CA - The No. 5 Cypress College Chargers women's soccer team triumphed in their non-conference home opener on September 24, 2025, defeating the No. 7 Mt. San Antonio Mounties with a final score of 2-1 on home turf. This thrilling encounter set a positive tone for the Chargers' season ahead.
In a closely contested first half, both teams displayed robust defenses and strategic plays, leading to a 1-1 draw at halftime. Sophomore, Luna Khazem scored the equalizing goal, setting the stage for a gripping second half.
The second half saw the Chargers intensify their efforts, with Khazem again finding the back of the net, securing her second goal and the game-winning score for her team. Assists from Amelia Perez and Peyton Dunbar were crucial in setting up scoring opportunities.
