Chargers Fall Short in Tight Battle Against Saddleback
Despite a back and forth contest between the two that went down to the wire, Cypress falls just short.
CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress College women's soccer team (7-3, 1-2 OEC) came up just short in a hard-fought 1–0 loss to Saddleback College on Tuesday afternoon at Ray Haas Field.
Both teams battled evenly through the first half, trading opportunities with strong defensive stands on each side. The Chargers recorded five shots in the opening 45 minutes and continued to push forward in the second half, finishing with 13 total shots and nine on goal. Despite several promising looks from Jessica Rosalino Vicente, Luna Khazem, and Alisa Kangas, the score remained knotted at 0.
Cypress goalkeeper Guadalupe Rodriguez kept the Chargers within striking distance, making three key saves in the match.
With the result, the Chargers fall to 7–3 overall and 1–2 in OEC conference play.
