Cypress Women's Soccer Sets Sights on Playoffs
The Chargers advance to the 3C2A Regionals.
CYPRESS, CA - The Chargers kick off their postseason run this upcoming week. In the regular season, Cypress had 14 wins, 5 losses, and 2 draws. During conference play, they had 8 wins, 4 losses, and 2 draws.
Sophomores Jasmin De La Torre and Luna Khazem are the team's leading goal scorers with both of them having 6 on the season. Alisa Kangas is right behind them with 5. Briselda Tellez, Ilaila Ramirez, and Amaiyah Purvis all have 4 goals. Naomi Lee leads the team in assists with 10.
Cypress saw 4 players earn All-OEC recognition. Jasmin De La Torre and Alexa Green were named to the All-OEC First Team. Alisa Kangas and Naomi Lee were named to the All-OEC Second Team.
Cypress has experience facing some of the teams on their side of the bracket. This includes the Saddleback Bobcats (15-2-3, 10-1-3 OEC), and both of their matchups this season were decided by just 1 goal. Orange Coast is also in the mix, which could be an exciting rematch for both sides. Finally, the Golden West Rustlers (11-4-6, 5-4-5 OEC) are in the running, a team that the Chargers beat 2-0 during the regular season.

UP NEXT: The Chargers have a bye in the first round of the playoffs and will host the second round on Saturday, November 22 at 1:00pm. The opponent will be determined after the winner of the Palomar versus Pasadena game on Wednesday, November 19.
