
Cypress Women's Diving Travels to Long Beach City
Chargers Fall Short in SoCal State Qualifiers
LONG BEACH, CA - The Cypress Women's Swim & Dive team competed in the SoCal State Qualifiers Meet this past Friday on April 11th. Both Chargers faced tough competition including divers from Mt. San Antonio College and Orange Coast. In the 1M championship Brooke Shiohama had a slow start and earned 17th place. Brooke finished the 1M dive with a 81.65 score. Joanna Cruz also competed in the 1M dive where she struggled early on. Joanna had a score of 56.30 in the 1M dive. Brooke and Joanna weren't done competing as they also participated in the 3M dive. Joanna and Brooke were able to have some friendly competition against each other. In the 3M Joanna finished in 15th place with a score of 80.05. Brooke followed right after and received a 16th place finish with a score of 73.35. The women's divers will have another chance to compete in their individual swimming events and try to earn a spot in the top of the Orange Empire Conference.
UP NEXT: The Chargers swim team will compete in the OEC Conference Championships on Thursday, April 17 at Saddleback College.
