Women's Swim & Dive Completes Regular Season
Chargers Show Their Bright Future
MISSION VIEJO, CA - The Cypress Women's Swim team wrapped up their regular season this past weekend at Saddleback College. The women had many high points throughout the season and showed they have a bright future ahead. Karly Lepel kicked off the meet in the 500 yard freestyle and had a hard fought battle. Lepel was able to finish top 6 in the conference with a 5:47.01. Lepel's previous seeded time was 6:01.83 which showed how much improvement she has made this season. During event 7 the 50 yard freestyle Marilyn Rodriguez and Joanna Cruz both competed and earned points for the team. They both were able to maintain around their same seeded time. Following the races were diving events where Brooke Shiohama finished top 5 and got a score of 81.65. Isabelle Neri competed in the 400 yard IM and finished top 9 in conference. Neri then followed competing in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:15.68. The Chargers conclude their season with lots of potential for next season.
