Coach Iordanov Leads Bulgarian U22 Men's Beach Volleyball Team to European Championships

Cypress, CA – Cypress Athletics is proud to announce that Danko Iordanov, Head Coach of the Chargers Women's Indoor and Beach Volleyball teams, has made significant strides on the international stage. In June, Coach Danko traveled to Turkey to lead the Bulgarian U22 Men's National Beach Volleyball team in the European Beach Volleyball Championships.

The Bulgarian team, comprising two standout international players, Stefan Vertigov and Georgi Binev, who have been training under Coach Danko in the United States, displayed exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament. The team advanced to the quarterfinals and secured an impressive fifth-place finish after a closely contested and dramatic match against Latvia.

In addition to his international coaching achievements, Coach Danko has been actively involved with USA Volleyball Beach National teams this summer. In May, he was part of the coaching staff for the Boys Beach Volleyball National Team Development Program (NTDP) held in Manhattan Beach. This three-day camp featured over 120 talented athletes, and Coach Danko played a pivotal role in their development. 

Coach Danko also extends his gratitude to Chargers Assistant Coach and his wife, Kristen Iordanov, for her exceptional planning and logistical support with USA Volleyball. Kristen, who serves as the Director of Operations for USAV Indoor teams, has been instrumental in ensuring the success of both the Chargers and USA Volleyball programs.

As the Cypress Chargers look forward to the upcoming volleyball season, the experience and dedication of Danko and Kristin Iordanov promise to bring even greater success and development to the teams.
