Female Athlete of the Year: Kaitlyn Reynolds (Softball)
Kaitlyn Reynolds was named an All-American, First Team All-State, and First Team All-OEC selection. She led the softball team to the state finals for the second year in a row, finishing second and being named Most Valuable Pitcher in the State Tournament. Reynolds finished the regular season ranked third in the conference in RBI, second in ERA, first in wins, and second in strikeouts. She now holds the Cypress College Softball all-time single-season wins record with 41. She was selected 3C2A Pitcher of the Week and twice selected OEC Athlete of the Week.
Male Athlete of the Year: Berkecem Renda (Men's Golf)
Berkecem Renda was named a First Team All-OEC selection, boasting the fourth-best average score in the conference at 1.8 strokes over par. He led the Chargers to a second-place finish at the SoCal Championships and into the 3C2A State Tournament. Renda is committed to play golf at Cal State Dominguez Hills next season.
Team of the Year and Coaching Staff of the Year: Women's Soccer
The Women's Soccer program finished with a 19-4-3 overall record, including a dominant playoff run to the 3C2A State Championship Tournament, where they finished second. The team had 6 All-OEC selections, 2 All-State selections, 1 All-Region selection, and 1 All-American selection. Five sophomores are committed to playing at the next level: Trinity Willis (Whittier College), Carisia Raygoza (Cal State LA), Chloe Imperialli (Concordia), Celine Gehrig and Abby Morales (Cal State Fullerton).
Best Individual Performance: Brandon Wyland (Baseball)
On April 20, in a 2-0 victory over Saddleback College, Brandon Wyland threw a complete game one-hitter with 8 strikeouts, keeping the Chargers' playoff hopes alive.
Charger Award: Chloe Imperiali (Women's Soccer)
Chloe Imperiali was an All-OEC First Team, All-State, and All-Region selection while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA during her two years at Cypress. Overcoming two ACL injuries, Imperiali has been actively involved on campus and in the community, inspiring others facing similar challenges. She was also recently named the Female Orange Empire Conference Character Champion Award Winner.
