Cypress Men’s Water Polo Head Coach Mark Canner Named OEC Coach of the Year
Coach Canner Shares Honors with Golden West’s Scott Taylor Following a Standout Season
CYPRESS, CA – Cypress College Men's Water Polo Head Coach Mark Canner has been named Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Coach of the Year, sharing the prestigious honor with Golden West College Head Coach Scott Taylor.
Under Canner's guidance, the Men's Water Polo team secured a spot in the SoCal Regionals quarterfinals as the No. 8 seed, finishing the season with a 14-13 overall record and a 3-3 conference record. The Chargers battled their way through a highly competitive season, making strides in the conference and postseason.
In addition to his achievements with the men's team, Canner also played a pivotal role in the success of the Women's Water Polo program, helping the No. 12-seeded Chargers pull off a stunning upset over No. 5-seeded Citrus College in the first round of the SoCal Regionals to advance.
