
Cypress Chargers Men’s Water Polo Concludes 2024 Season
Chargers Secure Postseason Spot, Highlight Individual Honors and OEC Coach of the Year
CYPRESS, CA – The Cypress College Men's Water Polo team wrapped up an exciting 2024 season, finishing with a 14-13 overall record and a 3-3 conference record, earning fourth place in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) standings. The Chargers made an impressive postseason run, advancing to the 3C2A SoCal Regional Quarterfinals.
Head Coach Mark Canner was recognized for his leadership throughout the season, earning OEC Coach of the Year honors, an appreciation to the program's growth and success under his guidance.
Several Chargers delivered standout performances this season, earning accolades both on and off the pool deck:
- Porter Rosenlof: Ranked No. 2 in the OEC for Goals (85) and No. 4 in Assists (42), Porter earned Second-Team All-Conference honors and was named Charger of the Week once this season.
- Wes Brazda: Ranked No. 5 in the OEC for Goals (72), Wes received First-Team All-Conference recognition and was also named Charger of the Week during the season.
- James Luther and Goalie Zachary Populous: Both received OEC Honorable Mentions for their contributions to the team's success.
