Women's Basketball On the Road for Final Round of Regionals
CYPRESS, CA- Cypress women's basketball (22-7, 9-3 OEC) are set to visit the Moorpark Raiders (24-5, 12-0 WSC) in the SoCal Regional Final.
The Chargers are coming off of an exciting finish to their Second Round matchup win against Ventura on Saturday, February 25th. The team's comeback showed their resilience and fight after they were down the first three quarters. The fourth and final frame brought a Chargers team with energy as they outscored the Pirates 29-9. Cypress's OEC honored players Jasmine Uy and Alexcia Alvarez showed why they earned their selections as well as MVP and Offensive Player of the Year Ashley Hawkins. The team went on to defeat the visiting Ventura Pirates, 79-67.
Cypress will travel to Moorpark for a state appearance on the line. The Raiders were perfect in the Western State Conference with a 12-0 record against their conference opponents. While they were undefeated on the road, three of their five losses came at home with their other defeats on neutral courts.
This is the third consecutive year that Cypress has appeared in the Third Round of the CCCAA playoffs. In her first year as Head Coach for the Women's basketball team, Brittany Imaku is one win away from taking the Chargers to the State Finals for the first time since 2010. On Saturday, March 4th #5 ranked Cypress travel to #4 seed Moorpark for the Third Round of the CCCAA postseason. Tip-off time will be determined and updated on Cypress Chargers social media outlets.
DETAILS: Per CCCAA regulations, tickets will be $12 for Adults and $8 for Youth/Students/Seniors 55+.
